Weather forecast windy with some rain, we decide to stay low and walk around the perimeter of Dewentwater. Starting from Keswick, half way is roughly Cat Bells so we decide to walk to the top and have a bit of lunch with a view. Poking your head over the rim as we reached the top was like stepping into and... More

This is a walk that looks more demanding than it is but that certainly doesn't detract from it's enjoyment. This is a great walk for families. Take the launch over to Hawks End to start the walk and then drop down at the other end of Derwentwater to take the launch back to Keswick. Round trip takes around a half... More

As walks go up mountains in the Lake District this was relatively easy - so if you are just wanting to get to a peak it is perfect! There is a little bit of a scramble as you get toward the peak but the views are well worth it! Wasn't too busy, and went up above the snow line today... More

Fairly easy climb for most. Well worth it for the views along Derwent water. Parking not great, especially when side field not open and you have to park just off the road.

It also provides views of many other mountains and lakes as a reward for the short(ish) steep climb. Although we visited as part of a longer circular walk, there were many people simply climbing to... More

good easy-ish walk that has really rewarding views. Gets the heart working without being a grind and short enough to abandon if the weather sets in :-)

This place is brilliant. Love it. Something for all the ages. The place has its beauty and it's quirky local charms. I used to live up north growing up so the lakes always bring a lovely dose of nostalgia with my visits that I love. Would come with my partner, family and friends it's lovely.

Lovely, enjoyable walk that presents you with a gorgeous view of the lake and surrounding area. Would highly recommend this walk if in the local area.
