Lake Windermere is a huge lake and a busy attraction. There are organised boat trips around the lake for sight seeing or there are also small rowing boat moorings if you prefer a little row around yourself. Along the lake shore there are cafes gift shops parks and walks and even an amusement arcade. There is ample car parking too... More

The lake is stunning and offers varied boat trips around the islands as well as rowing boats. Plenty of Pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets.

Beautiful cruise up to Ambleside despite the weather, and Brockhall quaint milkfloat like taxi upto town and back to cruise

lake windermere is great for ll ages there is a lot to do and very nice places to eat and drink , hire a boat and go out on the lake if the weather is nice its a good way to take in the scenery

Went 2 of us with my bf, we had a fantastic tour on the boat, its a beautiful quiet area with lots of history. Must visit! Very reasonably cheap too, trust be especially on a decent sunny day u will love it even more😘

Been holidaying in the lakes 5 weeks a year for the past 20 years and this lake still has its magnetic charm views are breathtaking and the shore behind bell island great for relaxing lazy days

From a boost lunch to a walk round the lake, sail on the water or just to grab an ice-cream..... so much to do, so many places to visit! Always, always , always enjoyable!

We took the red cruise from Bowness to Ambleside in March and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!! You get viewpoints that you just don't get from staying on Terra Firma...A far more immersive sensation awaits you!! A must do!!

If you enjoy the quiet holiday the Lake Windermere and surrounding area is a wonderful place to visit, I would highly recommend the lake cruses, and the public house (The lake view ) next to the lake for dinner or even a late lunch. every where you go is very pictures and photogenic so font forget your camera. the town... More
