Lovely short walk with great views of lake Windermere, we walked it during February and the ground was wet and muddy in areas so would advise wearing proper hiking footwear. at the top there are several benches to sit on and take in the views.

The view at Orrest Head is one of the spots to enjoy while you are touring the Lake District, and Windermere especially.

Climbed the hill - great fun. Happy sheep and cows. Good views of the Lakes, not far from Brendan Chase - a great wee B&B.

Great little walk up here culminating in a super view over Windermere etc. This would be perfect for those with children and/or dogs or a lovely space to stop for a picnic having hiked up here.

The entrance to this walk us at the side of the Windermere hotel. Nice 20 minute walk to the top. Fantastic view of the lake and mountains.

We walked up to Orrest Head after being given a trail map which I am told you can get from the tourist information office. The walk is well sign posted with arrows and starts across the road from NatWest bank in Windermere. The path is pretty easy to negotiate with some more tricky shortcuts if you do want to cut... A nice walk and a great view from the top. A few steps to climb as you get to the top so suitable walking shoes are advised though i did walk it in heeled boots :)

Walked to Orrest Head, walk starts from the side of The Windermere Hotel, a steady 30 minute walk, all up hill, but the views are fantastic
