Architectural gem in beautiful English Countryside. This old mansion was home of Lord Melbourne, British leader who was namesake of Melbourne Australia. Grounds include small village and quaint gift shops and small lake with large population of Canadian Geese and mallards.

Did the guided tour of the house. Having done many other stately homes this a bit average. Gardens nicely kept. Shops ok. Tea room well done.

we enjoyed a nice afternoon tea with cake which tasted very fresh. Children had milk shakes served in a jar which was very cute. Staff worked hard and service was good , highly recommend.
