Completed in 1978 this is the largest Anglican cathedral in Europe. Inside, the lack of adornments only adds to vastness of the "great space." A combination of elevator and stairs takes visitors to the exterior heights of the tower and some grand views of the city and landscapes below. A small fee is required for the vista experience.

I've been to older cathedrals but I've never been to one that took my breath away purely down to its size. Gorgeous building, absolutely huge.

The building was not very promising from the outside but inside there are several points of interest, such as the stained glass windows. However, nothing special.

One of TWO cathedrals in Liverpool, the Anglican is the older of the two in a looming gothic style. There are the usual wonderful attributes of a holy place such as carved pulpits, interesting tombs, and wonderful glass windows. All are worth exploring but don't...More

The Lady Chapel is really exquisite, as are the High Altar, vaulted ceiling and Cathedra. The stained glass windows are amazing specially if one is lucky enough to be there when the sun rays coming through them fill the interior with rainbow lights.
