Overview
More
At the heart of Liverpool's famous, iconic and always developing waterfront. Visually, nothing defines the city more than the Royal Liver and accompanying Cunard and Port of Liverpool buildings by Pier Head. Known collectively as the "Three Graces" and loosely based on the skyline of early 20th century Chicago, the interiors are sadly not open to the public.

This lovely building dominates the skyline from the Pier Head and dock area. Especially lovely when the sun shines on the Liver Birds on the roof.

Explaining the story of The Liver Birds on top of the buildings to friends over the years has been something of a tradition. The building itself dominates the waters of the Mersey from many angles but the best way to view it is whilst on...More

Attended a wedding here but had been in the building before and thought it was a beautiful entrance and expected nicely decorated rooms but it was very plain with not even a picture on the wall. Very disappointed.

This building with its two Liver Birds is iconic and forms one of the wonderful Three Graces on the water front. Each building having its own style. Part of the history of the city.

Seen this iconic building for decades on the telly and now after visiting up close and personal allows the grandeur and splendour of it to really hit home... it's enormous.

Imposing grey granite building overlooking the Mersey, with the iconic Liver birds sitting proudly above, one of the birds looks to sea welcoming home all the sailors, the other looks towards the town keeping all Liverpudlians safe. Building work in progress when we were there...More

As far as I am aware the Royal Liver building is not open to the public for tours but only to people who have business to do in the building itself.
