Top ways to experience Tower of London
The area
Neighbourhood: City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

What a fantastic part of the British history and the people who work there are second to none in their knowledge and are 100% a credit in the place they work. The tour its self is well worth the entrance fee and I purchased a audio tour of which I highly recommend and very cheap at the price,it made the tour well well worth it.The highlight of my tour was meeting the Governor Andrew of which years ago I had the pleasure of serving with in the Army, what a great man of which I have the greatest admiration for,his contribution and commitment to our heritage and Armed services is second to none and such a noble man. Please if you get chance visit this attraction, what a great place, and an honour to meet the Governor, Take care Al who work there and You lot are a massive credit to our heritage, well done!!!

As a history nerd, quite a sunny atmosphere once you get past the history of torture. Gobsmacked at the absolute UNITS those ravens in the courtyard were (lovely fellas). Lots to learn, a good amount to see. Probably one of my favorite bits of my trip.

Great, informative and entertaining tour offered by Yeoman “Shady”. What a proud tradition of ex military servicemen. So much history and grand buildings. No one does it like the British!

You must schedule time to see this attraction. We were in the first group of the day entering and it was great. We didn't have to wait in any lines. Crown Jewels are worth seeing alone. Lots of great history here.

We took an all day Golden Tour that included the Tower. There is so much history there: the Crown Jewels, the armory, where they chopped of Anne Boleyn's head, etc. There are the ravens, the Beef Eater guards. It is well worth the trip to see. Be sure to allow enough time to be able to see it all.

Packed full of history and stories. Recommend a guided tour you learn so much more. Could spend the best part of the day there.

The Tower is perfect for a group with differing interest because they have it all - gruesome stories, live ravens and exhibit about royal animals, armor, crown jewels, monarchy history, engaging guided tour, chapel, it goes on and on. I went twice in a week and saw different things both times.

This should be the first thing you do in London. A great tour done by excellent guides dressed in their Beefeater uniforms.
