This museum is impressive and will most likely take you the whole day to get through, as there is so much to see and nothing that should be missed. My problem was I got there late in the afternoon and had other things to see as well that day (poor planning on my part). I was able to see quite... More

It is a great museum! Covers all backgrounds and nationalities. Thus, everybody finds it interesting! Visiting time completely depends on your interests. I personally spent an entire day to visit the museum. Plan your visit beforehand by visiting the website and finding your interesting objects!

Love their fishnet architecture. The collection is overwhelming. Prepare your legs if you want to pay a visit here as you will get tired walking and exploring its massive collection.

visited the museum for the 1st time and found it massive, the only downside was you tended to go round in circles at parts, we though we would start at the top and work our way down buy looked like we skipped a level or 2 , if you are into ancient culture then its a fantastic place to visit,... This exhibition space is fantastic. The architecture of the building is amazing. However I was not interested in the South African exhibition that is currently running at the museum. Entry was free into the exhibition and there were no major lines in security to gain entry into the museum. Would return for another exhibition.

If you're an ancient history buff, you absolutely can't miss this museum. Syrian, Greek, Roman and Egyptian artifacts and mummies are peppered throughout. Not to mention, the famous Saxon rooms! There is a restaurant but it's a bit pricy. The cafe on the main floor is more reasonable.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
