We attended a matinee performance of Twelfth Night on a very warm afternoon. We had yard tickets (5 pounds & worth every penny) to stand & watch the show. (Be sure to come prepared for the weather as there is no cover in the yard)....More

Saw Romeo & Juliet plus Twelfth Night. Both brilliantly staged. Stood for R&J which did get a bit hard towards the end, thank heavens for intervals! But great atmosphere in the Yard. Sat in level one for Twelfth Night which was great. Love this place...More

Learning the story of the building, it's architecture and how each part was designed was interesting. If you stay in London long enough, make sure to watch a play! After all, where can you get that high quality play, that cheap!

Our tour guide was great. Loved hearing about all of the history and the opportunity to go inside the theatre and watch the stage being set up for the next play. This is a do not miss attraction

We were in London for a few days and paid a visit to the Globe Theatre. I am by no way a Shakespeare fan but found the place, the history and especially the guided tour were excellent. The place can get very busy and would...More

We went to the globe as "groundlings" or in the heat of the summer "stinkards." We found a wall at the back to help ease the standing on our feet that had already been walked on much of the day. The play had a modern...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some

browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest

One hour ahead would be good and enough, I think. Normally people start queueing outside a while before you are allowed in.

The restaurant connected to the theatre is terrific and not overly priced. Essential to book however.
