The area
Address
Neighbourhood: St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
How to get there
  • Piccadilly Circus • 1 min walk
  • Leicester Square • 6 min walk

Truly iconic landmark, just as vivid and engaging in real life as it was seen in all the films. Historic yet modern.

A great area with a mix of different shops, cafes and restaurants.

From here one can easily reach the main parts of London by foot like Leicester Square, Covent Garden and everywhere else in between.

Confusing expensive shopping area this is where misery meets reality with expensive shops made for the middle class.

If you like people watching this place is fabulous. Always packed and buzzing with people and definitely something to do if visiting for the first time. There are a few stores around including Lilly white which I like and a big boots! There was a Starbucks but I couldn’t find it on this visit.

Best experienced at night when the advertising boards are aglow. Lively spot in central London in the heart of the city near the Theatre District, Leicester Square and Soho. It is essentially a pedestrianized traffic circle and watching the lights, people and the red double decker buses streaming in and out is really fascinating. In the center is the much photographed fountain and Eros statue.

The busiest corner in London. Lots of attractions nearby and easy access from the underground. The Fortnum and Mason shop a must visit.

Exploring Piccadilly Circus and then walking to the Christmas festival in Leicester Square was a great walk. Between the two is the entrance to Chinatown. The Christmas lights, cold weather, and large crowds made it an exciting place to be.
