The area
Address
Neighbourhood: St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.

Well, it's not really like Times Square, is it? (Yes, the theater district is here, and they have lights and shops and restaurants, but...anyway). It's a happening place with plenty of restos to enjoy before/after a show on the West End, shopping, and people-watching. (Have seen better buskers, though).

Piccadilly is a truly picture of London. People from all over the word together. The place looks like the British time square. FREE

Loads of shops and all the surrounding areas like Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Soho, China Town etc, all sort of merge into each other, so you have done several areas without even noticing. Lots of shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment venues to keep you happy.

This is the perfect place to just walk around London from.
Nearby is Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Soho, China Town, Shaftesbury Avenue, Regents Street and so much more.
One needs to simply pick a direction and start to walk. It’s very busy and vibrant here and especially comes alive at night, so it always feels quite safe.

The manager and wait staff were friendly and efficient. We were served quickly and all four meals were very tasty. The restaurant had a good atmosphere. My only criticism is that the ladies toilets were not the best.

A center for tourism and pictures. But definitely worth seeing if you have the roads past. Above all, it is very nice in the evening when everything lights up. Avoid restaurants and some shops in the area as it is a classic tourist trap most often. But if you want to take some nice pictures and look around, there are many places nearby for shopping. Depending on the time, a lot of people and street artists gather.

You can get the Piccadilly line from Piccadilly Circus to Russell Square station. It's four stops and should take you roughly 15mins.

Le Meridien Piccadilly is a beautiful hotel very close to Piccadilly Circus! There is also the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire hotel or Victory House hotel, both located in the heart of Leicester Square only seconds away from Piccadilly Circus

Does Piccadilly Circus station has escalators from Bakerloo Line platform to Piccadilly Line platform?
I am coming from Embankment station and would like to change train at Piccadilly Line to Heathrow Airport, and I have a luggage with me.
Does the Piccadilly Circus station morning crowd at 7.30am too crazy to move around with luggage?

There are no lifts at Piccadilly Circus station, just escalators and about 40 steps up in total from train platform to ticket hall and street level.
If you are travelling from Heathrow, take the Piccadilly line to Green Park, where there is an escalator from the train platform to the ticket hall and a lift from the ticket hall to street level.
