Even on a "dour, drizzly" day, Highgate cemetery is an incredible place ... reading some of the inscriptions on the ancient (and some, not so ancient!) tombstones gives pause for thought; realising how fortunate we are with today's opportunities - the advances in Sciences, hygiene,...More

The Magnificent Seven cemetery is not the easiest of places to get to, the tube to Archway, a short bus trip, a walk across Waterlow Park, and then the waving goodbye of £4 if visiting East Highgate cemetery, much more if visiting West Highgate (only...More

Highgate Cemetery East is good value at the £4 entrance fee and you are free to wander around to soak up the atmosphere for as long as you like. The Cemetery has been allowed to become wild in its appearance but is a safe and...More

The guide was very entertaining but spoke too fast for tourists. the 1.5 hr visit is hardly sufficient to get an overview: no time for taking pictures if one wants to follow the guide. The place is just wonderful and it's a regret that one...More

You can pay £12 for a tour of the west cemetery (the guide asked at the start if people had anything they wanted to see) (don't bother asking for George Michael, there's a sign saying they won't take you there) lasting 70mins. That ticket also...More

Hello Although there is often (usually weekends) a coffee cart outside the cemetery, we would recommend that you go up to Highgate Village, or down to the bottom of Swains Lane (about 10 minutes either way), where there are... More
