Part of a small tour group, we were guided by Stephen who did an excellent job in taking us through the history of the building, the pub over the road, the lab and Fleming himself.

I am writing this review after visiting the museum with my two children aged 10 and 14. I do not have a scientific background, but I am extremely interested in the topic. Overall the museum was disappointing. Despite my excitement of the subject, we returned...More

I have had an interest in the history of medicine since I studied it at A-Level nearly 30 years ago, I am also a nurse who has seen first hand the impact of Alexander Fleming's discovery of penicillin, so I was disappointed to discover the...More

This small and eccentric museum conveys the situation in which Fleming discovered penicillin in a very authentic way. As one visits his laboratory you can almost feel how it must have been to work in this tiny space. There is a video which puts you...More

A small museum with slightly odd opening times-mainly because it is run by volunteers who do a brilliant job. Saying that, it really could do with a bit of a refurb. You can see the exact laboratory where Flemming worked and made his discovery, but...More

Hidden and not so easy to find, very near to Paddington station, it was like stepping into a time-machine. We were guided by a historian who is researching at the hospital and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed this short visit very much.

We visited this museum because we had a very short period of time left before leaving London. The AFLM is located less than five minutes walk from Paddington Station. Don't be deterred by the poor signage outside but once you get to the entrance of...More

Really interesting atmospheric museum, a small laboratory but it feels like you are touching history being in the place where penicillin was discovered. Well worth a visit, a hidden treasure.

A very small museum set inside a working hospital. You can visit the very room where Fleming discovered 'mould juice' or penicillin as it became known as. The lab is kept dusty on purpose and although set up as a museum only 24 years ago,...More
