This small square is good to visit to meet some of the leading figures in the political history of the UK. It is a fine place to just sit and think about the men you are looking at. Winston`s statue is quite awe inspiring.

Exit Whitehall, the Palace of Westminster on the left, St Margaret's and Westminster Abbey in front of you and the Supreme Count and Westminster Central Hall on the right. A green space surrounded by statues of mainly politicians, George Canning, David Lloyd George, Winston Church and also Abraham Lincoln, Mandela, Mahatma Ghandi. Did they all leave the world a better... More

I find who ever I travel with up to town at some point we enter Parliament square. Each time noticing something within the architecture I had seen before. It is always a hive of activity and interest. Be sure when you are there to look up and wonder what great people designed such intricate work.

A square full of statues like Churchill and surrounded by magnificent buildings and impressive views. Very busy to its location.

This is an important place in London. Many prominent buildings are situated here. Courts, cathedrals, parliament building, big ben, and many statues of world famous personalities like Abraham Lincoln, Churchill, Gandhi etc. are seen here. A most visited place by all visitors to London.

It is a relatively small but intersting square outside the Parliament Building often used for rallies and events but despite some interesting statues such as Winston Churchhill and others it is lost to a degree by the magnificent buioldings around it.

In this square you can find statues of great fighters for liberty or great people from Commonwealth countries together with Churchill. On the other side there are Churchill war rooms and as you should have expected The Parliament. It is a place that has a lot of architectural marvels combined with intriguing city scape.

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
