Hoardings surround the base of the statue, and serve to dwarf the same. Whilst the statue was somewhat iconic to Piccadily it appears to has disappeared into insignificance. Unless you are looking out for it, it would be easy to just pass it by.

I can remember meeting friends (and girls) at Eros (yes we all know it’s actually Anteros) going right back to the 70’s - it’s a true London landmark. Tourists flock to the statue at Piccadilly Circus but it’s hard to know why, it’s not really...More

This is an iconic structure that is an ideal meeting point for anyone visiting London to ensure that they will see each other - like ‘under the clock at Waterloo’ Knowing the philanthropic history behind this makes it even more special as well

Whilst understanding why the hoardings put around the bottom of the statue take away from what is a great landmark.

Unfortunately at the moment you cannot get very close to this famous statue as the base is covered with construction materials so you are a bit limited if you want a photograph.

Worth spending a few minutes to look at the statue if you are passing through Piccadilly Circus. It is always busy around the statue not easy to get near especially with all the people who sit on the steps around it. Apparently it is actually...More

With all that is going on in Piccadilly Circus, this iconic statue is easy to miss. Regardless, stop and give it its due though you will need a sunny day to fully appreciate an impressive sculpture.

Slap bang in Piccadilly Circus the statue is a prominent landmark near the Tube entrance. It's always busy, with buskers performing and people just relaxing and watching the madness

While in London again, we took another walk through the West End and ended up in Piccadilly Circus. The small plaza area and the steps around the Statue of Eros were again absolutely crammed with people. Many of them were simply sitting on the steps...More

In fact,it's not a stand-alone statue but a part of a artesian well placed in Piccadilly Circus.Beautiful but not a must-see,in my opinion. In the evening many people sit on the steps placed at its base.
