This is a fine old London theatre with impressive external architecture. If you are in the Upper Circle or Gallery you need to enter via the entrance to the right of the front of the building. It is about 65 steps up a wooden staircase. There is a narrow bar which can get very crowded. If you are in the... More

Setting aside the production that we saw (The Goat - very good, thought provoking, shocking and darkly comic) the theatre is beautiful. Great location, not far from Trafalgar Sq (probably slap bang between Charing Cross and Piccadilly Circus tube stations). Go for the stalls seats if you have mobility issues because there are stairs and lots of them.

Wow - I did not see that coming. Booked up The Goat or Who is Sylvia as it had a great cast and seemed interesting enough. However, we purposely didn't look up what it was about. We were surprised to say the least but had a great evening! The show is 1h50m without interval (which is a little strange), but... More

Situauted in The Harmarket, fine theatre built in the classic style complete with Corinthian columns and the usual accompaniment characteristic of a Greek temple. Saw a good Chekhov production here some time ago.

I would not recommend this theatre to anybody. There are over 50 theatres around the West End where you can have a good time and not leave crying and upset because you were 10 minutes late, staff was rude and you were not allowed to get to your seat. I understand there are rules in place but as staff you... More

Fantastic acting - interesting story. Every emotion experienced - laughter, sadness, disturbed, shocked.... Not for the feint hearted or easily offended. Seats at the back are ridiculously uncomfortable but can't complain for £16!

Just back from A Goat or who is Sylvia? Stars are for beautiful theatre, show was beyond different & would feel odd for recommending it due to its themes. Can't fault acting but......

I saw Much Ado About Nothing Royal Shakespeare Company Wonderful production, thoroughly enjoyable, great audience - I was up in Gods and the school trip behind me absolutely loved it - amazing! One tip, the top of the theatre makes it hard to hear - next time I would select a slightly better seat, but mine only cost £20 so... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
