The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
How to get there
  • Oxford Circus • 6 min walk
  • Bond St • 7 min walk

Beautiful clean museum
Sep 2020
Having seen Warhol at The Tate already I must admit I was blown away more Warhol and other artists at this beautiful, very covid friendly gallery. The staff could do with spending less time face down into their laptops but definitely worth a visit!

Gorgeous gallery showing beautiful contemporary pieces of modern art and furniture.... a joy to visit.

The day we visited the Bob Dylan exhibition was on... a gifted musician but also a very talented artist.

So much to see... a lovely way to spend a few hours.

A real gem
Feb 2020
I went to see the outstanding, beautiful and enlightening exhibition by Dominic Harris in February 2020.
The digital displays which depicted birds, Disney characters, flowers and butterflies was truly magical. The displays were interactive and move when the viewer moves - a real 2020 vision. I would always recommend the Halycon Gallery and especially Dominic Harris as this present time.

Superb exhibition & friendly staff
Dec 2019
I disagree completely with a previous review complaining about the staff here, I went yesterday and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I am not a wealthy person but was shown round personally by a very helpful lady, explaining the artwork & answering my questions. As for the exhibition, Dominic Harris is an incredible interactive digital display of immersive pieces - pictures that move, some of which you can move yourself . A very good experience.

Arrogant and classist staff.
Nov 2019
Unfortunately my visit to Halcyon Gallery was very negative experience. Basically it’s not a gallery but an ordinary shop for wealthy people. Members of stuff are rushing to help you with drinks and talks about art only if you look rich and able to buy any of the art (which is extremely expensive)
For instance, I’ve asked an attendant about some painting but she just brushed past me, totally ignoring me and rushed to greet and attend a couple with shopping bags from near luxury boutiques. She was extraordinary sweet to them and offered them drinks. I just stood there in my £40 coat totally ignored and humiliated. Same with other shop assistants- they only cared for “rich” looking, ignoring “poor” looking. Oh well, maybe it will teach me a lesson not to expect anything from a “gallery” which is, in fact, just a shop with extremely arrogant and classist staff. Just put a note on a door saying “rich only” to avoid confusion. Sad really.

A delightful surprise!!
Aug 2019
A delightful surprise while walking down New Bond Street! Amongst all the high end fashion and jewelry establishments on this street is this wonderful art gallery. While we were there, the featured artist was Bob Dylan. His work is colorful and strong, depicting American sites in places he has lived and visited. Some are simply stunning!! And his iron work sculptures are very appealing. The staff was friendly. And the gallery a work of art in itself. Definitely worth a visit!! If you go, don't miss their second gallery right across the street. We saw works by Andy Warhol, Picasso, and Chagall as well as a gallery featuring the glass art of Dale Chihuly.

My sister and I discovered the gallery by chance after shopping nearby. We were so impressed by the piece in the window that we walked in. Alexandra was happy to show us around and provide lots of interesting information. Such a pleasure! We will return for sure.

Bob Dylan paintings - a surprising free exhibition !
Aug 2019
This was an unexpected surprise as I walked down New Bond St off Oxford St ..... a free exhibtion of paintings by the musician Bob Dylan !
Mostly Americana themes I thought, but entertaining and very well done .... a talented man indeed - see his ironwork displays too (though I wasn't too enamoured by these)
