About
This market is one of London’s oldest and largest food markets, with over 100 delicatessens, butchers, fishmongers, and cheesemakers selling fresh produce, meats, artisanal delicacies, and more. It's where locals come to do their grocery runs, and where travelers can come to try some of the best British food in a historic setting. Join a food and market tour of London to make sure you don't miss any of the best stalls.
It gets busy on weekend afternoons, and some traders aren't open on all days—typically on limited market days early in the week—so be sure to plan ahead. – Tripadvisor

Neighbourhood: Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

- Opinion8tedSaugatuck, Michigan245 contributionsFoodie Heaven is Right!Though jammed with shoppers on the Saturday before Christmas, we savored both the sights and the tastes. The cheese stalls in particular are beyond fabulous, and one can have little bites and nibbets in a lot of places, comprising by the end a grazing meal. I would recommend morning because the market become more and more crowded as the day moved on. A very easy tube connection.Visited December 2019Written 7 January 2020
- Emma MillerCroydon, United Kingdom16 contributionsDon't eat before you go!Borough has a world class reputation and it certainly lives up to it. So much amazing food to eat right there at the market, and plenty to take home too. You'll want to take photos, everything is so beautifully displayed and quintissentially English. I heartily recommend the steak sandwich at Portena, the mushroom risotto and fish and chips and was it all down with an amazing value glass of bubbly from Cartwright Wines. Lush.Visited January 2020Written 25 February 2020

First time visiting this market and I love it so much that came back again the following day. Got off from the London Bridge tube station and the market is just outside the station exit. I love the mushroom risotto, fresh mussels and oysters. There are so many choices for fresh food!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Borough Market. There is an amazing variety of food from every part of the world. It does get very crowded. We ended up eating at a pub just across the street because there is only a very small seating area at the Market itself. We did get desserts to take back to out hotel room.
The Borough Market made me appreciate Philadelphia’s wonderful Reading Terminal Market and also the 9th Street Market (aka The Italian Market) just blocks from my home in Philadelphia. Visitors shouldn’t miss them!

This was my first time to the Market, I really enjoyed walking around and seeing the different stalls. I would recommend going, but make sure to check when the market is closed.

First visit to Borough Market. We tried some pasta (a bit disappointing) ice cream (great) and a steak sandwich and empanadas (@ Portena) whch were fantastic.
Looking forward to returning and trying more food (the crumbles looked great!) from around the world.
Busy, but that adds to the atmosphere

There are so many incredible food stands at this market. We wanted to buy everything! However, we made the mistake of going on a Saturday so it was packed! Long lines everywhere and it was nearly impossible to eat anywhere. We purchased some items to take home but had to eat lunch somewhere else. Definitely recommend visiting during the week!

A great spot in the city especially for food lovers. Just bear in mind that on a weekend it can get exceptionally busy, which both causes large queues and makes it difficult to see what’s on offer at each of the stalls, and forget any tasters! A buzz of an atmosphere and huge range of items on sale - it’s a must visit when in the area.

We were there on a Sunday in October and there were food vendors (restaurants) in the market area that were serving food. I’m not sure if it was the actual food court you mentioned. We chose to walk to a pub for lunch.

While London Bridge is closest, we went to the Monument station and walked across the bridge. The monument station is a few minutes further walk, but is serviced by more tube lines than London Bridge.

Hi pre covid I attended the market and there was a place which did champagne breakfasts. Is this place still open and are they rebook or rock up on the day? If this place isn’t there anymore can someone recommend somewhere for breakfast. Thank you

If you mean Bedales of Borough (I googled to find this) you can google them and ask about their champagne breakfast. Enjoy!
