Vibrant area of London, especially right by the river from the Tate modern to tower bridge. Every time we visit is seems to improve

Southwark is one of my favourite parts of London as it has a unique combination of beautiful river walks along with lovely restaurants and bars.

A very happening area in Southeast London. I like the vibe here. There are many attractions nearby, including Parliament, Tower Bridge, Globe Theater, Tate Modern, and the Tower of London. The Shard Tower is here as well as is The London Eye. These sites are good for getting beautiful views of London, and the Shard has a few very nice... More

Southwark park is beautiful, the pond is full of ducklings, goslings and cygnets. There's a fantastic children's play area that is and we'll managed. The cafe is worth a visit.

Yet another bustling area of central London with plenty to see and do. Within easy walking distance of many popular sights, restaurants and shops.

We stayed at Blackfriars Bridge and began exploring the area on the the river bank at Blackfriars. The area is busy but has a village feel and the railway arches with their shops and bars, as well as Borough Market were great places to explore.

Walk, sightsee, near river, museum visits, shopping, eats and drinks. Plenty to keep occupied. Good area of city and we walked from Hotel Citizen M to Tate Modern then cross this bridge towards St Paul's Cathedral and beyond to British Museum. You could take buses or taxis but I like to walk and absorb a city when I visit and... More

We stayed in Southwark for Xmas and were pleasantly surprised at how central it was to the London major sights. We were 200m from Borough station and 300m from London Bridge - the Borough markets are a must see, and the 'Shard' is just down the road. Southwark is a real working suburb, loads to see and do yet very... More

We had taken a very long walk along the Southbank area and had already seen plenty of sights. When we arrived at Southwark, we discovered that there was still plenty more to see. Located here are the Tate Modern Gallery, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Millennium Bridge, the Golden Hind and London Bridge, just to name a few. There are also... More
