Karl Marx lived and worked in London. His ideas inspired protests, strikes, rebellions, revolutions, terrorism, warfare, struggles for freedom, democracy and liberty, and regimes of tyrannical repression. Marx’s story combines comedy, tragedy, love, hate, hope and despair. This sets the backdrop to an intellectual expedition to unravel the mysteries of history, politics, economics and philosophy. We walk you through the life and ideas of Karl Marx. Sundays 11am Piccadilly Circus in front of Criterion Theatre.

An excellent guided tour where you get to see Soho, learn about the era and Marx's theory and life, laugh, and think. Friendly and engaging atmosphere, with the bonus of a good pub stop.

Excellent tour with Heiko Khoo, a thoroughly well informed historian. It was extremely cold and it took about 3 hours to complete, yet we all followed him along the streets of Soho and no one showed any desire to quit. A brief stop at a...More

Heiko was engaging, informative, funny, and serious. I wanted to read about Marx and his theories after listening to his presentation. He encouraged questions, and I suspect he modified his talk to meet the group's needs. The highest compliment came from my wife who said,...More

If the term 'dialectical materialism' gives you brain freeze, think again, because thinking is what you will do on this exceptionally erudite but marvellously entertaining walking tour. In fact there isn't too much walking although you will be pretty familiar with Soho and part of...More

The time passed very quickly. Heiko is an expert who put the information across in a very accessible way. We didn't get as far as the British Museum, but I'm not convinced we were ever meant to get there - and I don't really mind.

A thoroughly enjoyable walk around Soho, learning amazing stories that are never recorded by bourgeois historians. The guide was very amusing and had excellent knowledge of all things Marx. A hidden gem of a tour :)

We start in Piccadilly walk around Soho and end up, usually, in the British museum. Each guide takes a slightly different route.
