What a place... One of the most characterful pubs in London with one of the most characterful governors in London. Riley and his staff made us extremely welcome with banter and laughs despite the odd atmosphere of central London in the Covid 19 era. True gem and the staff add to it... Thoroughly recommended

My team booked our Christmas party months ago and asked for a space in the private room at the back for 6.30. Upon arrival we were told we won’t be getting that room and they’d arrange a table in the main area which was so busy you couldn’t hear a thing or move. After some back and forth we asked the other party who was sat in the room instead of us if we could squeeze and share the space and luckily they agreed. Instead of 6.30 we ate at 8.30. Food was bland and tasteless. They gave us some cheap Prosecco to say sorry for the issue but frankly I wouldn’t have returned there anyway. There’s better food options in Fleet Street so avoid this place.

Love the fact this pub is SO dog friendly! We felt really welcome. Food was food, salad particularly fresh. Only problem was the darkness and lack of sound-absorbing material, so back of the pub was very loud... service however was incredibly good. Would definitely go back when in the area, or when meeting people from outside London. Would recommend booking a table in advance

If you can make it here for the Sunday roast, it’s delicious! Great pub atmosphere and reasonable prices.

This was one of the most tastiest pastas I have had in a long time. I was worried about ordering Pesto as I hate pesto, however that combined with the spinach, tomatoes and pepper tasted amazing. There was the right amount of oil, the tagliatelle was cooked to perfection and was a touch al dente just as it should be. It held on the fork and was not a soggy mess. The coffee was nice. But could be served hotter. The service was attentive. The lady explained special orders, was accommodating and asked if everything was OK. This is a lovely gem of an establishment in the city. I can’t wait to try something else yum yum, and a desert. Lunch, coke and Latte was aaprox. £19. Toilets were also clean. Not good for people with mobility issues as you have to walk down narrow stairs.. however this not a problem for me.
