This was a birthday treat from my husband as this is one of my favourite films. I saw this show many years back in Liverpool and it was fantastic, how disappointed were we with the show in Manchester. Penny was fantastic but that’s as far as I would go. People laughing, including ourselves, in parts where there shouldn’t be laughter as it was such poor acting. We paid over £120 for our tickets and felt very let down. They really need to brush up on the acting skills and improve or else people will stop going. Sorry but felt very let down.…

I watched this show some years ago in London and it was fantastic. I was very excited to go and watch it again in Ipswich. I was expecting it to be a bit different with it being the tour version, but we were hugely disappointed. It was very amateurish. We could see what was going on back stage as the side curtain was not pulled properly. The acting, particularly the people who played Johnny and Baby was awful. Johnny's accent was terrible and Baby's voice was completely wrong. I thought I was watching 'Annie', screechy and high pitched. I felt like the actors knew the whole production was corny and low budget and played the show like a farce. So many moments that were special in the London show were ruined during the tour show. There was laughter from the audience in places there shouldn't have been. There was a lack of chemistry between the lead characters and little charisma from Johnny. In comparison to the London show I thought the dancing was lacking. I would not recommend this show and don't think I will watch an on tour show again. To summarise, awful overacting, low budget, terrible accents, lack lustre dancing. 😔…

Took my mum to see dirty dancing last night at the festival theatre Edinburgh for the 5.00pm show. We had great seats and plenty of leg room. Penny is one of the best dancers I have saw she has legs to die for very talented dancer and actress. I don’t think Johnny looked anything like Patrick swayze, he looked more like Danny from grease. I think anyone would find it very difficult to be Patrick swayze but can’t fault the body on Johnny the audience loved it and there was plenty of whistling. The acting and dancing was good all round and there was one girl who done a lot of the songs and her voice was fantastic. Baby learning to dance was the best and a good laugh. Me and my mum had a great night and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Got a programme that was £7 and a hoodie at £30. Nobody puts baby in the corner! …

This is Mum and I”s favourite film of all time and our go to when we need cheering up, so we were so excited to book our tickets and know that the show was coming to Bradford. I will start by saying the dancing was incredible and the girl that played Penny stole the show, what a dancer!! Wow. However, baby sounded like pinky and perky on helium, the most shrill annoying voice that made my ears bleed, the whole show was lip synced, as they had no microphones on so it was obvious. The whole thing was over acted and corny, some scenes were added that weren’t even in the film and the stand out ones in the movie were played down a bit. The end dance was fab and probably made it worth watching but all in all not that great. Guess Johnny and Babies shoes are just way too big to fill. 😭…
