Staying just round the corner of this pub my wife and I had their Sunday roast. We both chose the roast lamb and all the trimmings. It was excellent, the best roast dinner we have ever had in a pub including the popular "carvery pub venues". The staff were all very friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. The roast... What a brilliant pub, with being from the north west it fell like a local from home the staff and customers were all friendly, when back in London will be back at the Lord John Russell would recommend everyone to pay this public house a visit.

After a week in England it was time for my husband and I to do some wash before heading to Paris to continue our trip. We found a nice self-service laundrette a couple tube stops away from our hotel. We got the wash started and looked around for something to do whilst we waited. We found a pub across the... More

A group of us were staying around the corner while in London, and established the Lord John as our local after deciding to try the traditional English Roast for lunch, and also for dinner on the same day, so much were we impressed. The Euro's were on at the same time, and the LJR and staff looked after us brilliantly... More

Had the Scotsman Ale here, nice cozy spot to drink and hang with friends. Unfortunately, we went pretty late and almost to closing time, so we couldn't spend much time here

I love it. Good place to have a pint. Old fashion pub. Price is OK and they have several types of beer. Opens until late. I just keep coming back.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
