Bfi Southbank is an amazing place to watch movies - it contains three main screens and also the Studio Screen. They vary in size and as a result the programming of films is often allocated due to the releases they are showing. All screens are comfortable with more leg room than most cinemas and on entering the screen an usher... More

Visited on Good Friday, the staff were very friendly including the surprise Mini Eggs when we left. The Screen is massive and the layout very nice. As a special place to see a special film you could do no better.

Me and my partner always go to the BFI's annual film festivals. There is the London film festival sometime in September-October and the LGBT film festival in February-march time. These are both amazing with so many different amazing films to watch that you don't get to watch anywhere else. I highly recommend it :)

I highly recommend coming to this cinema here if you are looking to see something in IMAX or one of the big budget features. The experience is second to none and has perhaps one of the best theatre screens in Europe. I'd book in advance though, as seats fill quickly!

Wonderful facility in the heart of London offering great films, some current and many older ones. Really comfortable cinemas and good write up on each film available. Advisable to book in advance. Good and drink options available on site. For anyone using it regularly worth considering membership

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
