A venue with Soul

Union Chapel is a great venue, with an eclectic cultural programme. We have seen some very good shows here. Last visit however, there were a couple of things that really spoiled the experience for me. There is no allocated seating, which is understandable as the seats are the church pews. We were there with half an hour to spare, but... More

I went to this venue for the 1st time to see the living soul legend that is Leroy Hutson. It is in the main hall of a church, so spectacular views, a very high ceiling and very good acoustics. Being a converted church chapel, all seated and on church pews, but not as uncomfortable as you would think, and even... More

The beautiful Union Chapel is one of London's most impressive venues. Being a 19th Century brick built Church, the inside is cavernous and gothic in style, with original church pews facing an alter on a stage, and tiers arising to the rear. The architectural beauty inside is stunning, and the venue stretches and snakes on many levels, including upper circles,... More

This is a working church, and the organisation is a little bit amateur - but this just adds to the charm. The building is fascinating - clearly in need of work - and the staff are, just as you would expect in this sort of setup, very helpful and polite. The bar prices are very reasonable - and the bar... The Union Chapel is still a working church, but I visit it in its other guise as an amazing space to see and hear live music concerts. Internally it’s a great atmospheric space added to by the fact that you sit in the original wooden pews, which may not be the most comfortable seating for a 90 minute concert but... More

I recently attended my son's wedding held at the Union Chapel. The building was glorious. The service was very good and it was alt together a most enjoyable laid back affair. Highly recommended as a wedding venue

This is the first concert we have seen a this venue and it was brilliant. We did have a meal which was ok'ish so probably wont do that again but if you do get the meal you can get to choose your pew. Sat 3 rows back and the acoustics were brill. Will definitely look for other events here in... More

Went to see Barbara Dickson here on Saturday night and we were very surprised how good the organisation and accustics were. This is a very pretty venue and quiet intimate. The interval coffees (served in china mugs) was really good and two cups and a Kit Kat for a fiver great value. Our tips are line up before the doors... More

We went to a concert here. Great venue. Felt very open and spacious and acoustics were excellent. Speedy snack and hot drink service in spite of long queue. The hot food looked good but didn't sample it. No sandwiches on offer so no light food. People seemed to respect the whole bagging a seat with your coat thing. Will go... More

An emotional evening of outstanding live music combined with some heart tearing videos all in the special venue that is Union Chapel. London Contemporary Voices tied it altogether with their inspiring vocals as they joined every act except Jamie Lawson on stage.Their set with Joe Keogh was outstanding and created that very special feeling that you get when music, light...
