With so many other department stores in London along Oxford Street, Fenwicks is like the bridesmaid! However, the service here is usually far better than the larger stores and it is never as busy, so sometimes easier to do your shopping here. The staff at Jo Malones were exceptional when we were in here this time round.

It's a shame it's in the basement as the artificial lighting is terrible. We were given dirty glasses with our water. We ordered the festive Bellini which was great. The sea food linguini and penne giandanira was average. The cheese board and tiramisu was great. Good location to stop and recharge batteries. Staff were helpful too. Total came to £50... More

This Carluccios is a wonderful place to relax away from the bustle of central London. There's always a friendly, calm atmosphere & the staff are lovely. Tony served me & was great. I'd recommend the seafood linguine which is excellent :) I also like their lattes which are very good. It's somewhere for me-time, catching up with friends & it's... More

A staff member could not do enough for us. She was efficient knowledgeable and skilled. Every task was done with a smile. The store was clean and well fitted out; however, the designer clothes section was not really designer and lacked lustre.

Mark's Restaurant on the second floor of Fenwicks Department Store on New Bond Street is a great place to meet someone for a quiet breakfast, however, make sure your eat something before you get there as the portions are tiny! I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and although it was very nice it was tiny! The bread for my... More

For a 1pm lunch slot, the restaurant tucked away in one corner was virtually empty. Despite this it took ages to get served, the food for 4 people came in sporadic bursts. The plate with hot food came first but its accompanying toast came 15 mins later. One salad starter came 15 mins before the other two. In a restaurant... More

Have given this review 1 star as I was not offered the option of no stars which I believe is a more accurate rating. I have been to many Carluccios in London and surrounding areas and popped in to the branch located in the basement of Fenwick Bond Street on a Saturday afternoon, just wanting a coffee and a soft... Apparently under new management. Elegant place for lunch. Breakfast served all day. Highly attentive young staff, lots of them, and very nice food. Perfect for a gap in the Bond St shopping indulgence. They even turned down the music volume when asked.

Look at their website, one would think this is a great store to shop for everything; however, step inside and your view will change, the store was never a great place to start with and over the years has got worse.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
