Rupert Street has to be my favourite trendy bar in the Soho area. The venue is modern, spacious and a good place to go out for the evening. I think it's technically a gay bar but well recommended for anyone in their 20's or 30's. There's good beers, a whole menu of cocktails and champagne.

Disappointing. Asked for a double gin and slimline tonic. The tonic was flat and tasted pretty foul. On asking the barman to change the drink, he was just surly and said essentially that's the way they come (without tasting). Been going for approx 19 years, bye!!!!

Decent place to go with a decent atmosphere but my god the bar staff are miserable!!! Ur lucky if u get a grunt from them while they're serving you but they've no problem handing you the card machine with the massive "would you like to leave a tip" message on the screen.....errr try cracking a smile or learning how to... Came here with my sister a few days ago and it was lovely and sunny out, plenty of outdoor seating and Windows nice and open. Staff very friendly, drinks not over priced and just a nice place. We will both be coming back :)

Waltz in here without realising it was a gay bar, not that that would ever matter, the decor was beautiful and everyone was lovely and friendly, one young man who told me he was new working there was very friendly and just a genuinely lovely guy. The drinks were 2-4-1 so we made the most of the mojitos which were... More

Easily the best gay bar in London, probably in Europe. Very popular with professionals, fits neatly in the middle of age groups - so not really young and not older. Popular with guys in their 20s, 30s, 40s. Very international and cosmopolitan. It's pretty friendly too. Rupert Street bar is on the street of the same name, just off Shaftesbury... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
