This is an amazing place. Its filled with awesome restaurants and stores, as well as the best tattoo parlour in London. Its also far enough from the centre to be calm during the week, but it does get busy over the weekend. Places worth visiting are Pizza Pilgrims, Santore, the pub (great eco beers), and of course the tattoo parlour... More

This is such a nice street with lots of nice bars and restaurants. The atmosphere is lovely with the fairy lights across the street. The neighbourhood is really calm, even on a Friday night.

I went on a Thursday, and the market only had about 10 stalls out, the stalls were mostly Indian, but I did find one french vendor selling a delicious potato dish.

A city centre market ideal for local produce and clothing with a cafe. We had a snack lunch and found the menu to be basic it had all you needed for a quick bite. The food was prepared fresh and arrived quickly. No complaints about the food or service.

This is such a lovely street full of great bars and restaurants which looks so pretty at night with fairy lights running down the street. Moro is great for Spanish food/tapas. The Japanese Cafe is very traditional and I can't wait to go back there for a meal. The Pub is traditional and there are some great craft & antique... More

I visited twice on a recent trip to London, first time in early evening when bars were just starting to get cocktail business, the second time at lunch time when there were stalls serving a wide range of tasty looking street food at very reasonable prices.

This is somewhere I stumbled on and must say that it has been a real find. It is a part of London some of my family were born and I wanted to learn more about the place. I didn't expect to find this. Up there with places like Highbury Barn and Shepherd's Market, this is a place where you feel... More

Exmouth Market is right around the corner from our flat in London, so we are there all the time. It's a popular location for locals and tourists alike with many great pubs and restaurants. You should check it out if you're in the neighborhood.

We called in for a coffee and a quick bite to eat before visiting Sadler's Wells. What a fantastic place. It was certainly evident why it was so busy, but yet seemed such a relaxed atmosphere. Fortunately we found a table and enjoyed some perfect coffees, together with the most amazing (by no means your average) sausage roll. The staff... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
