About
The Official Jack the Ripper tour from Russell Edwards. Our tour guides have over 50 years experience and expertise into the case and have an untold wealth of knowledge to pass onto the fellow travelers on our thrilling and utterly engaging journey into the 'Autumn of Terror'. The only tour to include Aaron Kosminski's home. Tours run 3 times every day, starting at 10:30am, 13:30pm and 19:00pm from Aldgate East Tube Station, Exit 2. Tours last approx 2 hours. Look out for the man in the Bowler Hat. Using DNA evidence, Russell Edwards is able to conclusively name Jack the Ripper as Polish born Aaron Kosminski. The biggest murder mystery of all time has now been solved, thanks to DNA on a Victorian shawl and forensic science. In 2007, businessman Russell Edwards bought a Victorian shawl at an auction. The shawl was large - over 7 feet long, made of silk, obviously very old, and damaged, with pieces missing. The shawl had been taken by a policeman from the murder scene of Jack the Ripper's fourth victim, Catherine Eddowes, on 30 September 1888. Since then, aside from a few years in Scotland Yard's Black Museum, it had been safely stored away by the direct descendants of that policeman. In his book, Naming Jack the Ripper, Russell Edwards details the years of dedicated historical and scientific research that have gone into proving without doubt that Aaron Kosminski was Jack the Ripper.

Fantastic experience and well worth the money! Our guide was called Jeremy. He was incredibly knowledgeable, had an excellent sense of humour and had an appropriate pace on the tour. Jeremy catered for all of our needs and explained the story in a funny, but serious and factual manner. I highly recommend this company for the tour, in particular, Jeremy.

My girlfriend and I loved this tour! It was informative and well paced and Jeremy brought the whole journey to life, also adding humour to a dark story. I'd say this is an absolute must-do for someone visiting London, it's also a great way to see new suburbs too!

Jeremy even walked back towards Brick Lane with us, giving us tips on finding the best curry house around, which we did by the way!

Finally, I have to apologise to Jeremy that we took so long to write this review!

This was an incredible tour and worth every penny. From the moment we began, the tour guide Angie had us entertained and engaged. She was an incredible tour guide! Story telling is an art form and she truly has a talent for it. We could not ask for a better tour guide as Angie was clearly passionate about the topic and so knowledgeable. She's done years of research and reading on the topic. She was such a wonderful tour guide that we've arranged to check out her other tours in a couple weeks.

This was an excellent tour. We met our guide Angie outside Algate East station. She was fun, knowledgeable and brought the story of Jack the Ripper to life. At the end of the tour, she took time to chat and answer everyone's questions. We would highly recommend it!

This was a great little experience around Whitechapel! Learning about both the gruesome Jack the Ripper and the troubled history of this area was so insightful and interesting. Angie was great at engaging the crowd in a tough environment with lots of noise. Definitely recommend this experience.

Amazing 1st experience in London! After moving to London last year and this COVID situation, it was the first time we were able to do a proper outing! Angie was absolutely lovely and a true passionate. She was so knowledgeable! The way she was describing the streets during the Victorian time felt like we were there! She had a very good tone of voice which would keep you awake all along the tour (even managed to freak me out a few time ahaha). Thus, I found the way she was talking about these "unfortunate" ladies very touching and with a lot of respect. For the people who are COVID stressed, she gave clear instructions at the beginning and would always respect social distanciation so no worries to have. After the tour, they also sent us a digital big file of more than 100 pages about Jack the Ripper, looking forward to reading it! Just go for it!

Eva did the tour with us today. Not an easy task with the noise of the city, and having to wear a mask. But, she was great, full of really interesting facts and theories. Certainly rekindled my interest in the story. Highly recommended, and thank you Eva 🙂
