Came here for Open House.You would be hard put to guess that the hall had been built in the thirties.Maybe the portable Windows in the balcony give you a clue.

This 20s hall is a little secret in the center of London for low cost concert and activities. The acustic is quite poor but the tickets are quite cheap and many times the quality of the spectacle is quite good. The library is great.

Went here on a BEE Midtown free walk. It is 1930's style architecture but unusually austere for this style, in keeping with the ethos of this place which was set up originally for free spirited and radical thinkers to express their opinions; this still holds true today. The large hall with stage holds regular recitals and musical activities, not least a grand piano auction! The gentleman that took us round was interesting, told us the history of the place and explained about why this place exists. We visited the interesting library, where people were actually working, likely to be research. You can easily while away an hour or two here and I would recommend it.…
