I visited here just over a year ago and have since been eager to return on many occasions throughout 2017 and will continue to in the future. The staff in this pub are genuinely warm and welcoming and always happy to help. The landlord even serves free food fresh from the oven! Although not sit-down meals, they offer a range of items from garlic bread to sausage rolls and they are always well cooked and taste fantastic. In this pub they have four large televisions, this allows for an array of sports to be shown every week. Football and horse racing are the most common but the staff are often willing to show other sports. I even saw them showing handball upon request! In short, if you are just passing by or live in reasonable distance to this place, you just have to come to this pub. With fantastic atmosphere, unparalleled customer service, friendly regulars, free food and great showing of sports, this has to be one of the best pubs anyone will see. A must visit for any drinkers in the city!

This place has bags of charm, patient and welcoming staff, reasonably priced drinks and loads of atmosphere. Every week there's sports on the 4 big screens, Karaoke every friday, and FREE food. Though they doesn't do meals, they do serve sandwiches, rolls, garlic, mini pizzas, and sausages rolls, all freshly prepared. Some tables could do with an update but otherwise this pub is one of the few remaining classic boozers, great beer, the owner takes a lot of pride in his beer. It's a great place to get your night started on a fri or sat, or a nice peaceful place for a quiet drink during the day, complete with beer garden, pool table, and juke box. If you can't find someone friendly to chat to in this pub, you're the unfriendly one.

I run walking tours around the area and call with my fellow walkers into The George some lunchtimes. Its an old school pub with character & its popular with locals though newcomers are always welcomed. Several times I have recently been in there the landlord has handed out free sausage rolls & other snacks straight out of the oven. You don't get looked after like that often in many London boozers these days.No complaints with the beer either.
