This had a calm atmosphere. There's not a lot to see but you can just sit in the rebuilt chapel and reflect on an extraordinary life. There's a religious bookshop attached.

We visited St Julian's Shrine without knowing about the history of the place and felt quite emotional when we went inside. The place radiates tranquility and peacefulness. We enjoyed finding out about the Shrine and the life of St Julian.

Despite being a little bit far from the city centre, it is worth it. There it is where the first British woman writer decided to live and give advice to those who asked for it.

Peaceful place for contemplation in the heart of the city. Five hundred year old temple of tranquility. Find peace of mind by meditating on love and compassion for all beings. Very blessed hermitage.

Enjoy this peaceful shrine in peace and quiet in the city centre. A really true haven to escape. It's also very historic and an oasis.
