A virtual visit to Dr Frankensteins laboratory with Geissler Tubes, Bouquet Tubes, Railway Tubes, Jacob's Ladder, telegraph system, early x-ray tubes and many more crackling spark, electric flame laden demonstrations. Showing the education of the young Victorians, using many of the static accessories and rare artefacts, as used by them. We hope your visit here will prove interesting, stimulating and will give an insight into this largely extinct branch of science.

I don't know if Tony has even heard of the late, great, Terry Pratchett, but his marvellous museum/ tiny lecture theatre would be quite at home on the Discworld. An enthusiast with a real gift for communicating his passion for Physics (definitely NOT something I enjoyed at school) and for the early experiments that are the foundations of modern technology,... Tony's museum is absolutely amazing. As an electrical engineer I found the whole experience fascinating. My partner, who knows very little about the subject also found the 2 hour demonstration to be quirky and unique. As we entered, it felt like being in a tardis going back in time. Tony has a great sense of humour and is an extremely knowledgable... More

We visited the Museum of Victorian Science after seeing such good reviews... we were not disappointed. Tony's passion and knowledge is insurmountable. The collection of equipment is mind-boggling. All of the demonstrations are top notch and very fun. We learned a lot. The tea and biscuits interval with Tong & Pat was delightful, they are a wonderful couple and so... More

Thank you Hannah and Nick for your very kind review. We enjoyed meeting you and hope one day you might come again--I should have one or two new thrills and spills if all goes well. Thank you again, Pat and Tony. More

Visited the museum today (February 14th 2017). What interesting couple of hours! Tony has a total passion for every item in his compact home museum. Some basic knowledge of Science helps you understand what's being demonstrated, but Tony gives a full explanation of what's going on. The two hour visit is split into two very interesting hours, by a short... More

Thank youDenis and Rose, For your kind review. Physics can be quite fun as long as there are plenty of demonstrations, so I try to include as many as I can. 2 hours is a lengthy lecture, but the refreshments break by Pat makes it all, we hope, swing along comfortably. Usually new demos' never seem to work the first... More

My wife found this on TripAdvisor so phoned and booked for 4 of us. Good directions got us there, but allow bit more than 30 minutes to get there from Whitby, unless you are experienced in single track roads. The lecture takes place in small room, just enough for 5 people. Tony introduces his collection and you are off! Tony... More

Thank you kenneth, We are pleased you liked your visit and appreciated our efforts. A lot of work goes into these presentations and it is nice to know that it is making someones day. New ideas are always being sought after, but it gets difficult as time goes on. We have long ago got the easier ones and lately some... More

I found out about Tony's museum online and by the reviews I knew my trip would have been worth it. As I ventured myself in a 5 hours car drive from London to his museum, more than once I asked myself if it would have been really worth it, for me, it definitely was. A very warm welcome was awaiting... More

My husband and I visited yesterday and had a great time. This was a museum experience unlike any other; rather than wandering around a large space, it's one room absolutely packed to the rafters with devices. Tony gives a verbal tour of particular interests (mis-use of radioactivity, invention of the X-ray, et al.) with lots of demonstrations. It was a... More

If you're a party of 2-4, phone Tony, book yourself in and go for it. Myself and my husband went without reading any reviews and we just had the best time and i'm glad i didn't read ahead so I could go without any expectations. Tony & Pat are very welcoming and Tony is interesting, engaging and passionate.

Interactive and engaging experience - perfect for anyone interested in science or the Victorian era. Much more interesting than the science from school.

We travelled a long way to visit the Museum of Victorian Science and it was worth every mile. The welcome was warm and sincere. We were shown some extraordinary pieces of equipment, a number of which were home made. If you get the opportunity I'd highly recommend you make a visit.
