York Terror Trail, a history tour of the horrors of York. There is a monster, 1900 years old, thousands have died in its name. Like all the best masters of disguise it’s gone by many names: Eboracum, Eoforvic, Jorvic… today we just call it York. It has many weapons: battles, murders, terrible accidents and deliberate neglect. This city has two sides, the one it wants you to see and the one it doesn’t. It hides it down back streets and in the corner of your eye. We shouldn’t want to see it but we do. The terror trail can show it to you…The tour starts 6.45pm every night from York’s most haunted pub the Golden Fleece Inn.Adults: £5Children: £2

Gemma (I hope I got the name right) is an incredibly talented performer. The way she walks backwards through the streets while facing the group, is perhaps your biggest clue as to how intimately she knows her subject: the city of York. The tour proceeds...More

My guide was a very cute girl. Her earnestness and passionate acting made the whole journey even more interesting. The history stories she told were not only thought-provoking but allowed me to see the corners and details I had never noticed before. I really enjoy...More

This tour came highly recommended through a travel book my husband and I referred to for our trip to the U.K., and I'm so glad we went with it! Gemma was our tour guide and she did an outstanding job from start to finish! As...More

3rd time in York now and completed two other ghost tours and although billed as a ghost tour this is a more historical tour of York and is much more enjoyable and interesting. Chris, our guide, was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic and has clearly done...More

Visited York in January. Noticed the poster for the tour in the Golden Fleece and thought why not. Best £5 we spent. Our tour guide Damian was brilliant. His passion about the darker, untold history of York made the tour and our day. Highly recommend....More

Me and my partner visited York with another couple in January. This ghost walk was brilliant and would certainly recommend it to anyone. Our guide Damian was comical yet factual. A fully immersive and interactive learning experience. Thank you

We joined this tour having read the reviews and were not disappointed. I’m not generally one for tours with interaction of this level - the guides using the tourists to help act out the stories - but our guide was brilliant and held the attention...More

Just turn up outside the Golden Fleece Pub. They won’t take any money off you until the end of the walk. I think it’s a 7 start, but the sign is there all day giving the details. Enjoy.
