Very interesting and enjoyable, I loved the "Royal " trains. You can get the little shuttle bus from the centre of York to get there. Lovely cafe/food and gift shop

There is a huge collection of locomotives, rolling stock and artefacts on display in a large venue which is well organised and easy to find your way around. For those of us old enough to remember the days of British Rail and those who enjoy travelling by train, as I do, it is a fascinating place to visit. I could... More

A brilliant museum with so much to see. You can spend a whole day here and kids and adults alike will love it. We had a ride on the flying Scotsman when we visited. Free to get in and good facilities inside.

Been before. This time took our 9 year old grandaughter. You could easily spend all day in here. It's stupendous. Lots of new exhibits and so tactile. AND IT'S FREE. They only request a donation. What tremendous value for money. Worth a tenner of anybodies money. An absolute must visit attraction.

Visited today with my 2 son's and my partner, I found it disappointing as did my boys, yes it's free to get in but we were asked for a donation as we entered, the girl wasn't impressed when my boys handed over some of their pocket money, she looked down at it as I'd to say 'is that it'. Once... More

But needing some food quickly we ordered some pizza and wedges and sausage and mash. it was so poor and for £18.00 for 2 with a cup of tea and once piece of cake. I really do mean it was... More

Third time I've been here, which is what happens when somewhere is free entry! A very nicely laid out museum, a train enthusiasts paradise. There were many children's groups here, but the place was busy, not crowded. Apart from all of the static displays, the Flying Scotsman was doing trips up and down the yard. To see the most famous...
