Initially entered the Belfry as we didn't want to pay or queue for the tour of it's neighbour. What a great find it was. we were lucky enough to go on a day that there was tea & cakes on offer for free, a little duet singing a range of songs (not all religious). Everyone was welcoming and happy to... More

I only mooched around the outside and then visited the outside again later as part of a ghost tour. Nice looking building, lots of history, don't just walk past it without looking more closely.

Immediately adjacent to York Minster and open to all. Services vary from traditional to slightly funky.

We have been to this church about four times as I go to a Pentecostal church where I live and although the praise and worship and the gospel message is wonderful, we have found that after the service no one bothers to come and chat and welcome us. It seems to very cliquey. We won't go back after the last... More

If you happen to be walking by the church it is worth a quick look as it's interesting in its own right.

The reason for my title of "maybe next time" is because when we were visiting York in late August we never were able to enter the church. So my "excellent" rating is for the outside only. We found the office (off the pedestrian pathway next to the Minster - not High Petergate) to enquire about seeing the inside of the... More

We attended a wedding here and the Vergers Pat and Anne and the Minister Christian were the kindest most helpful people you would wish to meet.

Come here at the right time and worship with a living Anglican fellowship. Obviously the building is nowhere near as dramatic as the Minster but a church is not all about the building. My recommended time of visit is if a service of worship is taking place! Suitable for young children? Depends which service you go to.

I liked this church the moment I stepped into the compound. Yes it is a small church, not a huge grand one but something about this church grabs and touches my soul. The peace and serenity I felt by just simply sitting there is surreal! I would love to go back and visit again!
