A Beautiful church, which I'm honoured to attend every Sunday or so. Friendly and large congregation, with masses being more on the 'high' end of the Catholic spectrum (which is how I like them). The interior itself is wonderful and certainly makes one realise that...More

St Wilfred's is a rather attractive church with impressive architecture, particularly in the Chancel area where the ornate marble altar takes centre stage. I also liked the modern take on the stations of the cross via the very nice slate artworks.

I sat on Sunday Mass yesterday. It was one of the most beautiful sermons I ever heard in my life, sang in Latin and English. Very very touching. The Church felt very humbled, It wasn't trying to out-do the kitch .....it was just lovely to...More

St Wilfrid's is a Catholic church near to the Minster. It does stand out from other more mundane churches as the are around the altar is surrounded by statues with large paintings above the altar. Lovely windows though we weren't sure whether they were leaded...More

This Victorian Catholic Church close to the Minster, is very pleasant. In the nineteenth century it was a pro cathedral for the then diocese of Beverley. It is now a parish manned by Oratorian fathers, the plan being to have a York Oratory. Perhaps this...More

I am not Catholic but used to attend services with my late husband. I was visiting York on a Holy Day, with a friend, so I sent to a Mass with her. The church itself was nice enough, although not extremely impressive. I guess I've...More

Have visited a few times this year. This is a refreshing and sensitive place of worship, in a tasteful setting. Have attended Mass and also entered through the designated 'Holy Door'. The young 'priests' are friendly and knowledgeable. This is a beautiful Catholic Church and...More

No crowds like the York Minster which is just steps away. Beautiful church in its own right. Well worth the visit to experience this lovely landmark.

The building of St. Wilfrid's combines the decorative atmosphere of churches found on the contient, but with a calm English dignity. Have attended Mass here many times and the Mass is on the more "high" end of the Catholic spectrum, but nevertheless beautiful. If nothing...More
