Beautiful -don't miss it.

A lovely stained glass window in the Minster which is really beautiful and really needs seeing from the inside.

We were so pleased we visited to see this glass, just sorry we didn't visit on a sunny day, when it would be truly spectacular.

Best to appreciate this window from inside the minster. It's more of a sunflower shape really but called a Tudor rose. It really is quite spectacular and difficult to miss whether inside or outside the minster .

With a £10 entry fee I left the building. I refuse to pay to enter a church no mater what religion it is. There is wheelchair access. if you attend a service there is no charge.

The Rose Window can be found in the south transept of York Minster and as such a small part of a beautiful historic building. Well worth a visit if you're happy with the paid admission which is £10 per person to enter and £5 to climb the stairs to the roof.

Although very interesting the window needs to be seen in conjunction with the rest of the building. It was badly damaged in the fire during the last century but is now back to its former glory. Looks much better from the inside during the day or from outside at night.

This magnificent window was badly damaged in the great fire in York Minster; I remember the night well. It has since been restored to its former glory and well deserves a lengthy inspection both inside and out, particularly from the dark outside when the Minster lights shine out. It needs to be viewed in conjunction with the rest of the... More
