They give you a nice view of the city with cars and people out of the way. We walk one way then wander back thru the old town.

Really beautiful way to look at the city and a really historic lesson too. I would definitely recommend walking the walls if visiting York.

The walls are amazing. A good way to get around town with great views. But the walls are medieval so while they are somewhat updated for safety, caution should still be taken.

I am a tourist, and so cannot answer your question but York is a highly organised destination and so would be suprised if a German speaking tour was not available

Depends on where you get on (and how often you stop for photo ops), but I'd say not more than an hour.
