A wonderful 2 hour free guided walk round York. Our volunteer guide Mike was incredibly knowledgeable and showed us the hidden gems in York we wouldn’t have found on our own. He really bought them to life with the stories of York’s history from Roman times to the present. I can’t recommend this highly enough, thanks so much Mike and all the other volunteers for giving up your time to share your expertise.

We booked a guided tour as a group of 10 friends. we've been so happy of the tour which was freely given by Nick. He was so good in explaining us the history of the city and showing us the best spots around York!! Never boring. He was also very available for suggestions and very patient with us. He loves his city and this is visible in the passion and efforts he puts being a guide! Loved the atmosphere. also the tour is totally free. would very recommend.

The Association of Voluntary Guides are quite simply the best at providing accurate information about York past & present. Well informed, professional, personable guides who really know their stuff.. It's also absolutely free as they are actually dedicated local people who are keen to share their love of the City with visitors

Great tour with Richard A! We learnt so much about the history and importance of York and saw more than we would have been able to on our own in a few hours. Richard was very knowledgable and entertaining. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.
