Very interesting and the guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Great if you are interested in history and caves or if you want to learn more about the city.

Our guide Gareth was fantastic. His enthusiasm and energy was brilliant and we felt like we were in the Crystal Maze going from room to room, not knowing what we would find within. He kept young and old entertained with gruesome but not scary tales about the history of the caves and what they were used for. Hopefully more of the cave network can be excavated in the future as its a wonderful way of learning about Notthingham's past.

Very interesting tour, lead by our fantastic tour guide, Gareth, who was incredibly knowledgeable and funny too, with good jokes and great delivery. The caves themselves were fascinating!!!

I've rated this as very good - it was very good. Nothing overly outstanding but very interesting nontheless.

The tour guide spoke a little too fast for the non-English speaking couple in our group as the wife was trying to translate for the husband.

This is a most interesting visit touring the underground caves and hearing the stories of eras gone by. Not to be missed if you are in Nottingham.

Visited 30.8.22 , booked online but had trouble finding the caves due to the phone map app playing up and no signage in the vicinity which considering it’s near a building site and below the pedestrian area but found eventually after asking a local shopkeeper (note it’s next to the pitcher and piano pub which is the old church and accessed via the steps next to building on the corner of road to the right hand side of church) the tour was excellent very informative and our guide was Andy lovely man and great guide , found the staff really nice and would definitely recommend visiting.

Wow what can I say about the city of caves?

First point to make is it IS hard to find. I’m partially disabled so can’t take the stairs under the. Bridge. I managed the pens in the cave as once your down there only a few small steps. (Getting back up I was huffing and puffing but it was totally worth it)

The person on reception was so lovely, explained everything to us, including the offer for reduced price tickets to the nearby justice museum. There’s a little shop area selling some brackets and necklaces from gem stones as well as old coins, halfpenny sixpence etc, gemstones and a few other bits. All very reasonably priced. Guidebooks are available again at a very reasonable price.
Google maps seems to have no idea where the caves are and we spent ten minutes going round it I. Circles with no idea that we were doing so. Nearby there’s a few disabled parking bays but there’s almost absolutely no other parking under the bridge.

We hadn’t booked but trusted (ha ha was that wise?) Google to tell us it wasn’t very busy. We waited less than fifteen minutes and we’re greeted by our tour guide, Racheal, who was absolutely amazing! She had all the kids in the group (not ours) engrossed in all the history and details of the caves. Not one of the children there got bored or lost interest. Racheal was very informative, very knowledgeable and extremely likeable. Everything was so interesting and the way she described everything kept our interest the entire time. She happily answers all questions and was very approachable. She even got quite a few giggles from the vision children, as well as the adults. She involved the children from the get go, and all the way through they listened attentively to her bad asked questions. Honestly the best tour guide we’ve ever had whenever we’ve visited places with tour guides.

Highly recommend. One pint to note is there are no toilets on site. If you need a toilet you’ve got to back up the stairs to the top of the bridge and along to the contemporary.

Such a great place. I really really hope in time that they get permission to access more of the caves.

Thank you so much for an amazing tour Racheal. (From the chubby lady trying to throw her partner down a hole!)
