Nothing else quite like it... such history in a quirky venue. The pub has always been a 'must do' visit for foreign visitors. Fantastic atmosphere and it hasn't been ruined by a cosmetic makeover.

Well worth a visit and a step back in time. Fantastic old pub built into the hillside. Good range of local beers. Atmosphere was amazing. Will definitely return - I always go thee when in Nottingham

Supposedly the oldest pub in England. This place is a more of a tourist attraction than a pub. Trip to Babylon would be a more appropriate name for the place. On the night we were there a different language was spoken at nearly every table occupied! Had a few pints and something to eat, but by 8.30pm they had run... More

Always make a point of visiting when in Nottingham, best pub by far. A word of warning though, because of its popularity, it does get a bit crowded. Best visited during the summer months as there is a good outside area. Can't comment on the food as I only go for the beers.

I've fallen in love with this wonderful pub x Cosy, friendly and full of craft ales. If you want to see a little more of Nottingham's cave system and what it can be used for then check this place out. Note: can be very busy with tourists

We visited this extablishment (one of the oldest pubs in England, not the oldest) on 27th November for a Sunday lunch with family to celebrate my Birthday. We were very disappointed with the 'hearty' Sunday lunch, what food there was on the plate was good, but quantity served was, in our opinion, meager for the price of £10.49 per plate... More

I`ve been going here since 1977-sadly it appears that since that time,it has not had a make over/referb and this is contributing to its downfall...it used to be a great Rock pub plus it did amazing food-sadly both of those are either gone or in short supply, its had more owners/landlords over the past 5 years than I`ve had hot dinners.it... My partner is Nottingham born and bred and I am from Yorkshire. I love this place and often bring visiting family and friends who love it also. The children are usually fascinated with the caves and the story of the ship!
