In Burford for lunch with friends and hoped to look round the museum, having heard about some interesting exhibits. Sadly, it is only open for the tourist trade in the spring and summer. But the setting is great, a truly historic building and we shall be back to look round.

This is only a small museum with exhibits which convey something of the local history. It also has a fascinating collection of samplers.

We spent an enjoyable hour or so in this small but fascinating museum full of local treasures and information about the local buildings. The museum has limited opening hours and is staffed by volunteers.

Opening times limited to afternoons. Interesting if you like local history. Some of the names will mean more if you get a free town trail from tourist information for background. There is a huge dolls house which is always a feat of creativity but other than that very little that will entertain children. Twenty five minutes tops and you're done.

We popped in on the off chance not expecting it to be that interesting. From the outside it was not clear what the them of the museum was. It is about the history of Burford and how fascinating it was. Whilst it is small it is packed with loads of artefacts from 500 hundred years ago to relatively recently. Well... More

This is a very small, old-fashioned museum. It tells the story of Burford effectively. Parking is at a premium on the High Street, but you may find something in Sheep Street.

Saw a sign advertising this and decided to pop in. It is a very small museum but there are a few displays about the town, and some local publications about the area. Worth a short visit if you are in the town. Visited with family (adults, not teens, please Tripadvisor change your options!).

The Tolsey museum is a local small museum in the High Street and worth popping into . There is a fabulous dolls house depicting Georgian life made by 90 local residents and other interesting local memorabilia. Burford High Street is really nice , lots of old pubs, quaint shops and even has a shop which sells all types of brushes in... More
