The most beautiful city I have seen. New college makes you feel you are in a Harry Potter movie. It is a very friendly town. With students and researchers all over. A place worth visiting!

A very grand college that was founded by William of Wykeham in 1379 to educate clergy to replace those killed in the black death in 1348. Highlights are the amazing chapel on new college Lane. The bridge of sighs from Hertford college is close by.

Several New College Wardens (Deans) have been residents of the US either as academics or business leaders. As such American Thanksgiving givings are annually celberated in the Warden's private residence dining room. As always the student's home away from home was most welcoming!

For all it is called New College, that's a misnomer. It may have been 'new' once, but no longer. It's a beautiful old, Gothic building. It's so old and beautiful that it was used for a fair chunk of Harry Potter scnes. Well worth a...More

The main draw of New College has to be "that courtyard" from Harry Potter. It's obvious why it was such a good filming location; a courtyard with a single giant tree surrounded by medieval architecture creates a stunning scene. The rest of the college is...More

Able to tour the Old Quad, the Cloisters, The Hall, and the Chapel. Enjoyed Evensong Service with the magnificent choir. Our guide said that this has been a tradition for 700 years. One of the largest and richest of the Oxford Colleges.

One of Oxford's oldest, richest and largest colleges, New College has four main features of architectural merit: 1) Old Quad - the first rectangular Oxbridge quad, with lovely towering spires. 2) Chapel - beautiful stained glass and altar. 3) Cloisters - a scene from Harry...More

The dining hall is NOT the one featured in the Harry Potter films, but is close. An architectural gem, that is open to visitors to walk around. The chapel is stunning -- attended Evensong, a 45-minute reverential service featuring a choir -- they have been...More

I think this may be one of the colleges you may get in for free. The college is nice to explore especially the Cloisters and you are also able to get into the church, I think you get to access most of the grounds but...More
