Although this wasn't mentioned when I was booking, there was an option to buy breakfast as an extra but it's brunch, i.e. not till 11am, at the weekend so it was just as well I'd taken a box of muesli, some fruit and a frozen pint of milk - to thaw overnight. Towels, and a tea and coffee tray were provided.... More

On one edge of Oxford, about a 10-15 minute easy walk from the heart of Univ of Oxford landmarks, this historic college--the first to admit women--is what you would expect from modern day Oxford. A great mix of old (dining halls/kitchen) and new (student dorms that double up as a B&B during summer.) The rooms are modern but basic (free... More

Just beside the Radcliff observatory and mathematical institute this college is a mixture of old and new tradition and architecture. One of lovely place to stay for your academic visit to Oxford.

Stayed here during the University Open Days in July. My room was in a new (award winning) building with en-suite facilities. It was clean, comfortable and well located, just a few minutes walk from the city centre. There were kitchens where you could cook a simple dinner and Carluccio's is just around the corner! Building work was going on outside... More

It is pleasant to stay in an old room, properly modernized. I could look at the old coal fireplace and be glad that it wasn't needed. Rooms are not en suite, but in a week's stay I waited only once, and that was for five minutes. The porter at the gate was helpful, and the room was attended to properly.... More

Great location and very helpful porters. Feels very safe. Several great places just outside for breakfast . Don't go for this unless ensuite facilities available as otherwise you are sharing the shower and toilet with many others and the potential for a long wait to start your day

Booked this tthrough Oxford Rooms; cost £70 excluding brekky (took brekky at nearby Keble College in their amazing Dining Hall - £9.50) Modern and excellent, clean accommodation. Nice and quiet too. The porter's Lodge staff were very on-the-ball and did a lot extra to help me; nothing too much trouble; great service. The gardens are super too, and the Terrace... More

Somerville has some rooms which it lets out to visitors and we stayed there for a couple of nights while visiting Oxford. The wing we stayed in was modern and comfortable, good cooked breakfast was self service but eaten at the high table, we sat in the lovely grounds for a while and wandered through the gardens and terrace bar...
