Iffley Lock is on the Thames path but if you live outside Oxford it's a great place to start a walk into town. There's plenty of parking on the street and some decent pubs to eat in when you get back, an it's no more...More

This lock is on the Thames walk and it is very pretty. You pass the old ruins of the monastery and it is a very pleasant walk along the Thames. The lock is well maintained and you can watch the boats in the lock.

I rode here from the centre and then back again. Really pretty, the track is flat and well paved making it a pleasant low impact ride!

Beautiful, peaceful area on Thames a bit away from crowds in city center. Good dining options including Iffley Farmhouse- very good pub fare and outside seating available. Great for kids and families as well as couples. Fun excursion.

The answer is NO as there are steps onto the lock gates and the bridge. The only way is via Donnington bridge where there is a ramp access to the towpath .

It could take a long time by road but if you can find your way along the river you could make it in 40 minutes
