Oxford Castle Unlocked explores the 1000-years of Oxford's History. Led by one of our costumed characters, the rich history of the castle with a prison at its heart will be revealed to you. Climb St. George's Tower and take in the stunning views before descending into the atmospheric crypt, along the 18th century prison wing and into archaic man-made mound.

Very good. The guide was funny and knowledgeable. Good value for money. Mind your head if you are over medium height as the doorways are LOW.

Solomon Wisdom was our tour guide through the Oxford castle. 1000 years of history of the town and interesting insights of the life in prison until its closure in 1996. Highly and strongly recommended.

Interesting place, part castle, part prison, part church and all brought alive by the knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide (Black Bess in our case) who made sure everyone had a fun time while learning about the various gory episodes in Oxford's history.

For your kid it should not be a bad place, but there are a few places like the basement or the cell, which are small and stuffy and may feel claustrophobic and/or a bit spooky. Overall if your kid/s likes new places and... More
