Good Family Day
Oct 2021
Very nice palace with plenty of garden spaces to explore. We only did the main floor tour, but would probably do the other floors if we returned. We spent far more time than planned touring the many garden areas around the palace as well. Kids enjoyed the stables, fire garage and outdoor walks.

Good Day Out.
Oct 2021 • Couples
Great day walking in the formal gardens and parkland. This is a very busy attraction but there’s plenty of space. The walks highlighted on the map are excellent with plenty of stopping points to take in the views. The outlets for food and beverages are plentiful around the palace and walled garden.

Beautiful Blenheim but a few niggles
Oct 2021 • Solo
Blenheim is a jaw droppingly elegant palace with beautiful grounds to match and a characterful history. I booked on line for the house to ensure that I could get in and then took advantage of queuing up for the free upgrade to an annual pass. The interior of the palace, the rooms and artefacts are equally wonderful and I really enjoyed my visit. It was a lovely warm and sunny day so I did potter in the formal gardens and over the bridge. There are some longer marked walking routes that you can take. It was worth the 107 mile trip.

However, there are several detracting issues that could be simply addressed which would make a visit so much more enjoyable. Firstly, better signage. The journey from car park to house is not immediately obvious (I know, you should be able to see the house from a car park but you can’t from all) maybe signposts to house and the different gardens? I followed the crowd and that’s how I got there. It is a reasonable walk which I enjoyed but I could see that several mature visitors did not. There was no sign of any motorised assistance and no signage of where one might hail or board one. Once I got to the house I joined the unmarked queue to upgrade my ticket to annual which involves the issuance of a plastic photocard. The queue was long with only 2 positions open. Every so often a guide would shout ‘are you all waiting for an annual ticket’ and people who were queuing in error would be alerted to their error and make their way through the entrance. On entry to the house itself, also unsigned, a chap watches you try and use the hand sanitiser and explains it’s foot operated. He clearly does that several hundred times a day, he said it to the people behind me too and could benefit from a sign and/or a dispenser that is intuitive. I entered with a small family group of Italians in the party and the sanitiser chap gave us a quick overview in English. I was quite shocked that there were no leaflets in other languages available. I know we have the pandemic so we can’t use audio guides but maybe something downloadable to a mobile phone if paper really isn’t allowed or wipe clean leaflets to hand back for sanitising. Of course there’s no information per room other than an overview on a stand which is something. Again a downloadable guide would have been helpful. The human guide in each room is of course a help. It’s a personal thing but as it was my first big house visit since the pandemic began it made me realise how much I missed the information especially on the paintings. I don’t think I’ve ever been round such a grand house so quickly. This is despite the fact that I have a bit of knowledge of the fascinating people in its history. Finally, the cafe is grim. Not enough tables inside and what there are are crumb covered and sticky. Goodness knows what it’s like when most people aren’t sat outside. I sat at a table with lots of skiddy stuff on the floor. The queue is long, the selection brief, the coffee average, and the payment queue is separate. On the way back to the car park I spotted the miniature train station. You have to walk up to it specifically to find out that the train isn’t running, only indication of this was that the next train was at 6pm. Signage would be helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to review Blenheim Palace and to share your feedback with us. We value all our visitors' opinions and are always looking for ways to improve our customer service/experience. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us overall. Regarding your feedback on signage outside the palace I will make sure to pass this onto the relevant people to make it clearer to those visiting Blenheim. Regarding signage in the house, we have a stand with the relevant information on it. Our Palace Guides are always on hand and happy to share their wealth of knowledge. We have also recently developed a free online app which can be accessed through our free site wide WIFI, which shares information about what you can see as you explore the Palace, Park and Gardens. I will also pass on signage for the sanitizer station we have as well as the train. We understand that when you arrived there was a queue to upgrade into an annual pass, but I assure you that we are doing things as quickly as we can to ensure quick and swift visits that are stress free. Regarding the water terrace café, we have four dining outlets on site: The Orangery Restaurant, The Churchill cabin, the Oxfordshire Pantry and the Pleasure Gardens Pizza Café, all of which have been recently refurbished. We have also expanded our catering spaces following previous feedback and to ensure minimal waiting time for our visitors. Alongside our own cafés and restaurants including the Oxfordshire Pantry, The Churchill Cabin, The stables café and our Orangery were opened as catering space, we are sorry to hear that you experienced long queues and will pass your comments on to the relevant people. We hope to welcome you back should you wish to visit us again to continue exploring everything we have to offer. Thanks, customer service team

Racist and offensive guide
Oct 2021
Stunningly beautiful and historically significant I was eager to visit again after several decades. The gardens are magnificent and the estate is not to be missed. Unfortunately, multiple improper (and flatly racist) comments from a tour guide during the otherwise interesting Downstairs Tour caused us to leave in great sadness without finishing the day. Gobsmacked by this unexpected behavior, which has no place in the public realm. Do better. (I'm incredibly thick skinned but I can't abide derogatory and debasing behavior. Racist comments are not funny, full stop. So STOP.

Terrible. They do not care for disabilities.
Oct 2021
We arrived and got our tickets. i explained that my partner could not walk very far to the lady and she said the walk was not far. It actually was a very long walk from the Woodstock entrance to the palace, there was no offer of the golf carts that i saw other people received. We went into the palace and realised that half of the rooms you need to pay extra per room to visit. After spending £60 to get us in i was not expecting or willing to pay anymore.
I asked a member of staff if the train when the next train was, he replied with "its not running today" and walked off. By now my partner is struggling and is having difficulty standing. We asked if we could go on the tour and the member of staff replied "its fully booked today, sorry" then walked off on her phone. However, on the internet i could still book tickets for us to go on each tour. We went for coffee and the member of staff spent the whole time talking to her colleague about how much her back ached and how much she wanted to go home. There was no food on that day, she did not give a reason why as she then went back to talk to her colleague.
They were the rudest people i have ever met. They do not care for disabilities and do not cater at all for disabilities. I can not believe that we had such a poor day out for such a large amount of money.

Thank you for taking the time to review Blenheim Palace and to share your feedback with us. We value all our visitors opinions and are always looking for ways to improve our customer service/experience. We are sorry that Blenheim did not meet your expectations and you were left feeling disappointed. We value all of our customers feedback. We do provide mobility scooters, wheelchairs and a buggy shuttle on request for our guests who have a hard time walking around our grounds as we know it can be quite a long walk! We are sorry that these facilities were not offered to you on the day of your visit. With regards to your comment on the ticket price, we believe that the price of our admission fee is reflective of the high-quality experience that we provide in and around the Palace and hope visitors understand this upon their visit. Visitors can also explore more than 90 acres of award-winning Formal Gardens, over 2000 acres of landscaped Parkland and our family-friendly Pleasure Gardens. Visitors that kindly choose to donate their admission fee to our charity can convert to an Annual Pass free of charge, allowing unlimited visits over the course of a year and free or discounted entry to almost all of our events. The full value of your admission is invested into the vital and ongoing programme of restoration that allows us to maintain our 300-year-old World Heritage Site. We receive very little external funding, so we remain grateful to our visitors for their contributions. We do provide additional tours for a small £5 fee however with your entry fee you do have access to all our main exhibits as well as our eleven staterooms, our Winston Churchill exhibition and our brand new stables exhibition. we are disappointed to hear your thoughts on the service they have provided. We are grateful for all feedback so please be assured that your comments have been taken on board.

The magic of Blenheim Palace gardens
Oct 2021 • Couples
We spent a most delightful couple of hours wandering around the gardens and parkland of Blenheim Palace on a cloudless October day with the colour of the leaves on the turn and the sunlight warming the golden sandstone of the Palace. It is quite simply a magical place with lakes, waterfalls, arboretum, secret gardens, walled gardens and immaculately kept grounds. We arrived in time for the opening and it was quite busy by the time we left, so I would recommend getting there early. Purchase tickets online before you get there. There is plenty of parking.

Thank you Blenheim
Oct 2021 • Couples
We visited Blenheim on Saturday 9th October having precooked tickets a few days before ad it was part of our short vacation. We also reserved a wheelchair for one of our group who has trouble walking.
On arrival we were shown towards the disabled parking bay which limited the walking distance to the entrance. From there Natalie a lovely friendly lady arrive on a mini tram to take us up to the entrance. Once there she showed us to the wheelchair reservation point
Natalie also met us at the end of our visit to return us to the car park. This particular service made our stay so enjoyable
Everyone working at the palace and grounds were brilliant friendly and attentive. Whilst most of the palace and gardens were easily accessible those that weren’t were made so by more friendly and caring staff. Far too big for us to see everything in the one day we hope to utilise the fact that our day tickets were converted into an annual pass ( free) at some later point in time
We had a fabulous day in a truly spectacular setting and can’t that the staff enough

A lovely experience in a beautiful location. The building and grounds are stunning. Signage could be improved to guide you around such a large estate including access onto the estate.

A wonderful surprise

We took a short walk from our hotel and were pleasantly surprised to find the entrance to Blenheim at the end of the road. We enjoyed a very pleasant hour wandering the courtyards and admiring the gardens.

Almost a good day out.
Oct 2021 • Couples
We have an annual pass to Blenheim which we use quite regularly. The house and gardens are amazing as is the Winston Churchill exhibition. There are plenty of very good toilet facilities with ramps everywhere for wheelchairs. However the visit could be enhanced. This morning we had to queue for 20mins at the entrance simply because they don’t have a payment kiosk for annual car holders so we were held up by people making a payment. Furthermore they seemed to have cut back on eating faculties with only the Oxfordshire pantry and Orangery apparently open. The stables which we’ve used in the pass was closed to the public. We had a scone tea in the pantry which I regret to say wasn’t fresh. In conclusion lots of good things at Blenheim but could be improved with a little effort.
