My daughter is currently learning about the Tudors and a friend kindly asked if we’d like to visit the Manor Lodge and do a Tudor tour. I didn’t even know that the Manor Lodge even existed. What a beautiful place it is! We had an inset day, so 20 odd of us (children and adults) descended on the Manor Lodge... More

I have visited Sheffield Manor Lodge many times and each visit is a great experience. With a lot of history to learn about, animals to see and a great place to eat, you could spend most of the day at this site and come away feeling happy. The staff and volunteers are all really friendly and enthusiastic and are always... More

Manor lodge as open days and activities throughout the year and they are always worth a visit, the visitors centre has craft activities for little ones, adults can join in too! There's a snack bar as well. There's lots of history to read up on and a walk round the ruins and turret house is a must. If you walk down... More

We visited today as part of the Heritage weekend. We took a tour with a tour guide which was very interesting but took an hour and 20 minutes which was a little too long for the children so by the time we got to the tower which was the most interesting part, they'd had enough which was a shame. We... More

We only found Manor Lodge when looking for The Rhubarb Shed Cafe and were amazed that this historic building was slap bang in the middle of the Manor housing estate, with extensive grounds around it. I have lived in Sheffield all my life and have only just found it. Well worth a visit, especially as it has a very modern... More

The only part of this site totally in tact is the turret house. Really interesting building with lots to see. The grounds are equally as interesting as you can walk around the ruins. There is a heritage site and there are events throughout the year.

This is an interesting little gem to visit with lots to see and very pleasant volunteer staff who made us very welcome. There are organised tours (price £3)on a regular basis on a Saturday but we were told that on at other times you had to book in advance. We chose just to wander on our own but were able... More

I like nothing better than get in the car and head off to explore castles, historic buildings, ancient monuments and their surrounding landscapes; however, even though I currently live in a village without a car, I have discovered over the last 18 months that it is quite possible to very many interesting places – in and around South Yorkshire -... The volunteers are really friendly and helpful. The site is really well run and is a great day out. The wildflower meadows are outstanding.
