I walk through the grounds of the Cholera Monument often as I live near by. The history behind the monument can be found on the information boards available. It marks a mass paupers grave from the early 1800's when Cholera was rife in the slums which were to be found just below the Monument grounds itself. Other than the monument... More

Close to the City Centre, the Memorial is set on a hill in a really peaceful park area with lots of colourful flowers. There are a few boards explaining the history of the monument. The views from the top over the City Centre and out to the moors are stunning. Well worth a visit.

We stopped by here whilst in Rotherham for the day purely for potential comedy value, but the history was actually very interesting! Really nice monument in an excellent position in the park with a view overlooking the city and the Peak District. Worth a visit just for that!

A really unusual monument which you would walk right past unless you know the history - It details the horrendous conditions which existed in Sheffield at the time. Near Norfolk park entrance on Shrewsbury road have a walk in the park after a quick photo stop

A quite place to look over the city & spend time reflecting. The stone work is beautiful, and the area is well kept. The information stands are worth a read as it gives a lot of insight to the area. The adjoining woods are also pretty & help you forget your in a busy city. The views are also amazing

From here you can see all across the city and the rolling hills of the Peak District in the distance. It's quite a steep walk from the train station. Exit from the back of the station, where the trams stop, and head up one of the two paths. Worth it for the view alone.

I walk my dogs through here every day, it's such a lovely green space. I choose to walk through the ajoinging clay woods which leads to the monument, there is a great view of Sheffield from here and a large green space which is popular for running dogs. It is well maintained and clean. You can cycle from the back... More

Very calm and charming place with an interesting view of the city. Well maintained park with colorful flowers, benches. Just behind the Station and Tram stop. I recommend for everybody.

Went for a look around, took some nice pictures of the monument on a sunny day. The place was empty which was great, perfectly kept areas and a great view over the city. Shame about the graffiti on one of the signs. Worth a trip but not much to see but forms a stop off on a heritage walk, map... More
