The museum is in the basement of the Georgian era Assembly Rooms and that's good for the collection you are about to see. Why? Because when you enter the stately building and encounter the late 18th century decor, you quickly realize that you're moving into a time warp and it's all so charming, you're willing to let it happen. In... More

It was really interesting to see how the styles changed through time. The explanations were clear for a novice like myself. I did not feel the clothing examples for the last 5 years fitted within this collection as they are extreme catwalk designs rather than the clothing style worn by the wealthy as shown by the rest of the display.... never seen so much about fashion all together. It's really inspiring and instructive. all the pieces are showed in a timeline path with makes a lot easier to understand the fashion changes over the time. It's an option to go in the morning if you have a coach back home in the early evening

An comprehensive range of customs well presented with in the cases. Disable friendly attraction which we had to access via lift. I think if it was very busy it would not be so easy to see the clothes. We had a group of visitors which kept standing in front of us it was not a problem as there were not... More

Definitely worth doing with the combo ticket with the Roman Baths. A relatively small but beautifully curated collection, focussing on the 18-19 centuries.

A great deal of information and a large collection of beautiful items. I did feel it was missing a little something in terms of atmosphere, but great for fashion lovers!

Bath is a significant place to hold a fashion museum - why it was a playground for the rich in the 18th Century in particular. The audio guide is also excellent, except there is too much. Every one of the 100 objects is referenced. I decided to follow men's fashion through the centuries, which was interesting in itself. From doublet... More

This lovely little museum is inside the Assembly Rooms in Bath and is absolutely worth a visit if you are coming to Bath. Not only does it give an excellent overview as to how fashions have changed from the 1600s to the present day, which some extremely rare artefacts, it is well laid out with helpful descriptions and a good... This fashion museum is not huge, but it is very well done. The number of years covered are impressive as well as the different styles represented. The audio guide was very helpful. The sticker sheets for the children were helpful for getting them involved. The dress up area was the best! This is a must see in my opinion.
